What are digital wallets?

So what is a digital wallet anyway?

Put simply, it refers to an electronic device that allows an individual to make electronic transactions.

You can broaden this reference to include purchasing items in a retail store using your smartphone (for example, attached to your bank account) or purchasing on-line with a WeChat account.

No physical cash is involved in the transaction and you usually have a store of funds that are contained within the ‘wallet’. And often these digital wallets will contain other functions that extend the capability of the transaction process, such as sending funds directly to a friend for example.

At threepercent we have more than a decade of experience in developing and implementing digital wallets.
